Instructions for Using the Personal Income Tax Calculator

  1. Input Your Annual Basic Pay: Enter your total annual basic salary, which is the fixed component of your pay.
  2. Input Your Annual Total Allowances: Include all allowances such as transport, housing, utility, meal, and other benefits you receive in addition to your basic pay. Provide the total annual amount.
  3. Input the Attributable Annual Figure for the Benefit-in-Kind (BIK): If your employer provides benefits such as a company car, subsidized housing, or other non-cash perks, enter the annual monetary value attributed to these benefits.
  4. Input the Annual Profit Figure from Any Side Business: If you run a side business or vocation, include the total profit earned annually. This figure should reflect your net earnings after expenses.
  5. Enter the Insurance Premium Paid Last Year: If you paid a life insurance premium for yourself or your spouse in the previous year, enter the total amount paid. This amount is considered for deductions under Nigerian tax law.
  6. Click on the Calculate Button: After entering all the required information, click the "Calculate" button. The calculator will process the inputs and provide:
    • Your total taxable income
    • Applicable deductions
    • Your tax liability
    • Any other relevant income information
