Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc has reported a dramatic
turnaround in its performance for the third quarter ended 30 September 2025,
posting a profit before tax of ₦13.38 billion at the Group level, compared with
a loss of ₦64.16 billion in the same period last year.
At the Company level, profit before tax stood at
₦14.49 billion, reversing a ₦63.96 billion loss recorded in the third quarter
of 2024.
For the nine-month period, the Group’s pre-tax loss
reduced sharply to ₦8.72 billion from ₦275.58 billion a year earlier,
representing a 96.8% improvement. The Company’s loss before tax also narrowed
by 98.3%, from ₦274.62 billion in 2024 to ₦4.56 billion in 2025.
The performance signals a major recovery for the sugar
producer, buoyed by stronger sales, improved cost efficiency, and better
operational outcomes.
Dangote Sugar has faced significant headwinds in
recent years due to input cost volatility and foreign exchange challenges, but
the latest figures suggest renewed momentum and a potential return to full-year
profitability.
The company’s unaudited results were released
alongside its consolidated and separate financial statements for the period
ended 30 September 2025.
